Shotgun metagenomic sequencing covering 700+ oral species, with published AUC of 0.88 for periodontitis classification. Used when we need broader ecology data than a targeted panel provides.
Viome Oral Health Intelligence / CancerDetect
RNA transcriptomic saliva test with FDA Breakthrough Device designation for oral and throat cancer screening. Opt-in for higher-risk patients. This test has Breakthrough Device designation but is not FDA-cleared. We disclose that in writing before you consent.

About
Dr. Ashwin Nambisan
Dr. Ashwin Nambisan is the founder of Bedrock Periodontics and the Bedrock Periodontal Longevity program. He holds a BDS from Rajiv Gandhi Health Sciences University, an MPH at Loma Linda, and post-graduate specialty training in periodontics from Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine.
His clinical focus is Fotona laser periodontics, regenerative bone and soft tissue grafting, guided implant surgery (From single implants to All-On-X Full Arch), and salivary diagnostics into whole-person care.
Dr. Nambisan is a strong advocate for the oral-systemic connection and integrating oral microbial and salivary diagnostics into whole-person care.
He works in active partnership with physicians in Austin and beyond.
